the not-so-final countdown

In a blink of an eye, Show Day is in less than 2 weeks! So many people are asking me how I'm feeling... how's it going... and honestly, it's just going. I'm usually very self-aware, but right now I can't tell you how I'm feeling. It's so close yet so far! There's still a lot left to take care of before the big day so I'm just focusing on things day by day until December 9th. I stopped feeling like this was a competition a while ago, now I'm just focused on putting on a good show for everyone and especially myself so I can make the people who supported me through this whole journey proud! 

Time actually flies. The moment hit me hard when we had to start returning our beloved uniforms :(

This was also the day we met Anne Heung, 向海嵐! I remember watching her act when I was young, and she still looks the same, if not prettier in real life! Wanted to badly ask her how she keeps her skin that flawless, but decided it's probably because she has really good Asian genes ;) 

Yesterday, we volunteered at Richmond Cares Toy Drive! We were featured on the news too. It was a really cold morning (-4 degrees celsius) but it was pretty fun volunteering with the girls, saying hi to strangers trying to get them to donate for a good cause! I'd say it was a pretty successful toy drive, there were so many toys!

Got me thinking about how I can give back to the community for the less fortunate, especially during the holidays. For starters, I think it's a really good idea to carry gift cards to Starbucks, or Tim Hortons, or any fast food chain, so you can give them out to the homeless. It's practical and really helps! Another thing I thought of is something I used to do in school, called the Shoebox Project. Fill up the shoebox with daily necessities, hygiene products, gift cards, warm socks and gloves, etc. and then wrap it up and voila!

Signing off for tonight now, currently watching the Miss Chinese Toronto Pageant with my mommy. I'm going to be in their position soon. AHHHHH!! Again, what is life? (I like to throw this one in whenever I can :P) I don't know what my life is, that's why I'm asking haha! But seriously I need to stop pinching myself because this is real. I'm one of the 10 girls in this huge spectacle that pretty much every Chinese person knows about! No pressure at all.
